"Without you"

We met back stage one autumn night
Talked into the early light
Found a hope, a spark of something true
Loving you was all I could do
Now I'm turning old and grey
Heading towards my judgment day
Trying to change my ways before I'm through
But I don't want to go to heaven without you

You're the other half of me
All I know or think or see
Everything I ever want to say
If we hold hands we might find the way
But if you take another trail
A pathway that's bound to fail
I'll follow you away from what is true
I don't want to go to heaven without you

Don't wanna go to heaven if you're not there with me
Rather spend each day with you in a fire and brimstone sea
So if you wont change your ways then I'll join in too
Cause I don't want to go to heaven without you

Comes the time to pass away
Quietly one summers day
Lay my body deep beneath the sod
Then I'll stand before almighty God
He'll ask why I went down
A path that led far underground
Instead of searching up towards the blue
I'll say it wouldn't seem like heaven without you
